		<description>Bronnid tehtud :)

Lisan ka omalt pool kirja milel saatsin eelmisel nädalal laiali oma välismaal elavatele tuttavatele, äkki keegi tahab veel kellelegi saata :)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

If you are planning a short vacation, this year there are few places that can beat Tallinn this summer. In June and July Estonia will celebrate 4 big events:

Medieval Days
(30.05 - 06.06) www.vanalinnapaevad.ee
Tallinn has one of the oldest and best preserved old towns in Europe. In 1997 Life magazine listed Tallinn in their famous &quot;List of 100 Places One Should See in his Lifetime&quot; not to mention that is is a part of UNESCO world heritage programme. Every year in the beginning of June, Tallinn&#039;s old town becomes truly medieval city for a week, hosting a series of concerts, marketplace for handicrafts. Definately worth going.

Midsummer Day
(23-24 June)
As winters get very dark in Estonia, people (as Finns and Swedes) have learned to appreciate the longest day in the year. It actually does not get completely dark even. This is the biggest party in Estonia which is celebrated by the whole population regardless of age. You will see bonfires and parties around the whole country, although in cities big festivals are held, the best place to celebrate it is the countryside. Choose one of the villages on one of the islands, see real culture, dance with locals and stay up the whole night. There is nothing better in the world.

Song and Dance Festival 2009
(02-05 July), www.laulupidu.ee/eng,
It is one of a kind event in the world which takes place every 4 years and which celebrated since 1869. It has 150000-20000 participants (15% of the population!) and if you want to know what kind of a sound is produced when 20000 singers on stage are singing the same song you have no alternatives.

Estonian Beer Festival 2009 (Õllesummer)
(08-12 July), www.ollesummer.ee/eng
It has been voted one of the 5 best beer festivals in Europe together with Oktoberfest, Cannstatt Festival, British Beer Festival and Europe Beer festival. There will be about 100000 visitors and beer will be cheap, women will be beautiful and for the ones going with families there will be plenty of activities for children.

There is a very good and cheap connection between Copenhagen and Tallinn with 3 daily flights which last less than 1.5 hrs and cost from 1000 DKK round trip. If you should plan to go, ask me for suggestions regarding places to visit and to stay. I might even be there myself!

Dont hesitate to pass it on if you think somebody could find it useful.
